A Little Color Matching Help

For anyone that needs a quick reference chart on colors, here it is. You can see the conversion from CMYK to RGB Hex and also Pantone spot colors. Of course, with switching between any color mode you need to be careful because they don't also convert the same. When getting a project printed, make sure you get a draw-down from your printer to make sure you have the correct color.

Useful Web Sites - Side Job Track

As designers, you are always looking for ways to be more productive and stay organized. A great free service that I use is Side Job Track. You can keep track of all your clients and the projects you are working on. You can also send estimates and invoices via email or print them out, and they can even be customized to look how you want. Unlike other services that have a free service but limit the number of clients and projects you can have, Side Job Track has unlimited number. If you use the service, you can even add your name and company to their home page and get a one-way link to your site. For anyone interested in seo, their PR is 4.

One Space

For those of us just coming out of the typewriter age, here is a little update. Use only one space after a period. To take it even further, "Use only one space after periods, colons, exclamation points, question marks, quotation marks - any punctuation that separates two sentences". That is a quote from the book, "The Mac is Not a Typewriter". For everyone that thinks two spaces is okay should really check out this book. Also, if you are a designer, you need to read this. I am faced with this everyday and always have to make corrections. For anyone that disagrees with me, pick up any novel or book and look to see if it has double spaces. You will not find one. If that isn't evidence enough, visit www.press.uChicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/cmosfaq.
